WIDA ACCESS Excellence Award

Sturgis Public Schools is proud to announce that 46 English Language (EL) students tested out of needing EL services. They achieved this milestone during the 2024-2025 school year by demonstrating proficiency on the WIDA ACCESS, which is an assessment that measures the four language domains of Listening, Reading, Speaking, and Writing. The WIDA ACCESS meets U.S. federal requirements of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) for monitoring and reporting of EL progress toward English language proficiency.
